'Lily' now completed!

NISI MASA is happy to bring out another new short film based on a script awarded in its European Script Contest for short film scripts (2005 edition - "Silence"). Lily is the debut film of Marianne Griolet (Sweden), and is divided into five parts. In the first and the last sections we see two people in a park, the second shows a very special university lecture, the third is at a party where a mysterious CD is being played, and the fourth is a car trip which ends in a surprising way…

In each part we meet the enigmatic Lily. As each sequence ends in confusion everyone turns to her because she seems to know what is going on; but instead of giving an explanation she smiles and says: ”Ouais!”

Lily was shot in Stockholm, Sweden during the summer of 2007, over a period of four days. The first and last parts were shot in the area of Hornstull in a park behind the church of Högalid. The lecture scene was shot inside the Stockholm Business School, the car scene south of the city and the rest in an apartment close to the Högalid.

During the first day of shooting it became very warm. All of the windows of the apartment where the party scene was filmed had to be closed and the actors were all wearing black turtlenecks and jeans. Several water drinking breaks had to be made, but everyone did well and everything was completed within schedule.

The film, which was also made in partnership with Film Stockholm and Fanzingo, was premiered on the 17th of April in the Kulturhuset cinema. Kulturhuset is situated in the very centre of Stockholm and offers cultural entertainment and events in many forms. It therefore offered a great place for Lily to have its first public screening.

Lily will start touring festivals soon.
