On 24th May 2012, the Cine-Boat sailors were in Cannes for the international premiere of their short films at the 51st International Critics’ Week!

We’d like to thank the Semaine de la Critique and also the Finnish Film Commission for welcoming us at their pavilion for a meet & greet afterwards.

DRIFTING HOME (9’32)

The ferries represent a key element in our protagonists’ everyday lives. This film takes them on board to navigate through their reflections upon their own life paths, and how they led them to the islands.

PIKKU-KALLE? (12’)
Alastair Cole, Daniel Szöllosi, Anna Dmitrieva

Who Is Pikku-Kalle? Are you Pikku-Kalle? This short documentary is a film about just what it means to grow up, to tell a joke, and to be Finnish. The film scours the beautiful Finnish archipelago of Turku for the mischievous character of Pikku-Kalle, giving an insight into the satirical world of Finland, and reminding us of the naughty child that is inside every one of us.

VELVOLLISUUS / DUTY (8’21)

9 people recount their most remarkable memories from the Finnish army service; they try to reconstruct the situations again… and this leads to unexpected experiences…

But I am not alone in this case, and the princess loves also Before Sunrise.
So, lets have a look at a slightly melancholic and post cineboat depressioned video; shot randomly in Berlin, edited in one hour in Paris, between one shot of creme chantilly with vanilla rhum and a good good good german organic bier.
