Turkey - NISI MASA Turkey
NISI MASA Turkey was originally founded in 2004 by members of the ‘VideA’ Association (www.videa.org.tr), an artistic and political media collective based in Ankara. Then other people from METU Cinema Association involved to NISI MASA Turkey during their first meeting (Human Rights and Visual Culture Seminar in Ankara, 2005). Then NISI MASA Turkey has become an initiative which has members mostly from METU (Middle East Technical University) and VideA. After this meeting, Videa and NISI MASA Turkey has separated. Since 2006, it is a group composed of young, enthusiastic people involved in audiovisual workshops, research, film making, video making, film screenings etc. NISI MASA Turkey creates and supports cultural and artistic projects, works with NGOs and organises festivals and seminars. NISI MASA Turkey is engaged in audiovisual production and also in the sharing of ideas, experiences and information. It is involved in collective projects with independent artists and art institutions on both national and international level. Since 2007, most of it’s members live in Istanbul.
First Contact with NISI MASA: Turkey has involved NISI MASA network by organising script contest in Turkey firstly in 2004.
