The first session of the 4th edition of European Short Pitch took place from the 18th to the 23rd of Janury 2010 in Moulin d'Andé-Ceci (France) where the European winners proceeded to a rewriting work of their short film and have been initiated to the technique of pitching.
Then from the 16th to the 18th of April, the European co-production Forum took place in the frame of the 4th edition of The NexT Film Festival in Romania, when producers and scriptwriters met during the "pitch" sessions.
Initiated by NISI MASA, European Short Pitch is the continuation of a scriptwriting workshop held for the finalists of its European Script Contest since 2004. It aims to develop European production of short film through promotion of projects starting from the phase of writing, through meetings between scriptwriters, directors and producers on a European level.
Selected on the basis of their short film scripts, 24 young European talents discuss, rewrite, and learn to promote their ideas on a European level with professional tutors.
This year, five tutors are involved: they have been chosen for their thorough knowledge of short film dramaturgy and their european experience. Razvan Radulescu, a famous Romanian scriptwriter (Boogie; 4 months, 3 weeks and 2 days…); François Pirot, a Belgian director and scriptwriter (Nue propriété; Elève libre…); Savina Neirotti, scriptwriter, director of Scuola Holden’s Master in Narration Techniques and the Torino Film Lab; Antoine Le Bos, scriptwriter, scriptconsultant and director of “Le Groupe Ouest”, European Center for Film Creation in Britanny (France); Marie Dubas, executive producer at “Les Films du Requin” in Paris (France).
Then, pitched their projects in front of a panel of 30 producers, commissioning editors and distributors in Bucharest in April.
